Bundaberg Regional Council has launched its 2025 Christmas program, featuring a vibrant line-up of events to spread joy and cheer across the region.
This year’s program offers something for everyone, from festive artisan markets and creative workshops to live performances and the return of the much-loved Pageant of Lights.
Mayor Helen Blackburn said the Christmas season was a chance to showcase the best of the Bundaberg Region with its creativity, generosity and strong sense of community.
“Christmas in Bundaberg is more than just decorations and carols, it’s about celebrating everything that makes our region special,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“We have incredible local talent, beautiful public spaces and a community that knows how to come together.
“This year’s program brings all of that to life, from twinkling lights in the CBD to riverside celebrations and festive experiences for all ages.”
Mayor Blackburn said the 2025 program would once again feature Pageant of Lights, lighting up Bourbong Street on Thursday 4 December.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back the Pageant of Lights as a magical event that brings families, businesses and community groups together in the heart of the CBD,” she said.
“Whether you’re watching from the sidelines or joining the parade, it’s a wonderful way to kick off the festive season.”
The program also includes the return of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks event, set to light up the sky from the newly redeveloped ANZAC Park.
“With river views, live music, food stalls and two dazzling fireworks displays, it’s the perfect way to farewell 2025 and welcome 2026,” Mayor Blackburn said.
Events portfolio spokesperson Cr Steve Cooper said the 2025 Christmas program was designed to reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the Bundaberg Region.
“Whether you’re browsing handmade gifts at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery’s artisan markets, enjoying a festive show at the Moncrieff or taking part in one of the many community-led events, there really is something here for everyone,” Cr Cooper said.
The 2025 Christmas program is out now with full details available here.
