Council wishes to advise that to safely deliver the 2025 New Year’s Eve Fireworks event at ANZAC Park on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, the following road and access closures will be in place:
- Quay Street Carparks from Maryborough Street to Targo Street CLOSED from 1 pm Wednesday, 31 December until 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January 2026.
- Quay Street from the Burnett Bridge roundabout to Targo Street CLOSED from 4 pm Wednesday, 31 December until 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January.
- Quay Street from Maryborough to Targo Street CLOSED from 6 pm Wednesday, 31 December until 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January 2026.
- The Burnett Traffic Bridge at both ends from the Quay Street and Perry Street intersections CLOSED to all public vehicles from 6 pm Wednesday, 31 December until 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January 2026.
- The Burnett Traffic Bridge pedestrian walkway and footbridge CLOSED from 6 pm Wednesday, 31 December until 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January 2026.
- Pedestrian access only will be permitted on the Burnett Traffic Bridge between 8.30 pm and 11.30 pm on Wednesday , 31 December 2025 and between 12.30 am and 1.30 am Thursday, 1 January 2026.

During the closure, traffic controllers will be in attendance at Quay Street, Targo Street and Perry Street to provide detour signage.
Information for the public, including bridge closure signage will be in place seven days prior to the event.
