Community voices are needed in upcoming Age Friendly Focus Groups to help build a region that supports ageing well.
Led by Bundaberg Regional Council, the project aims to explore everyday strengths and challenges faced by older people, helping Council plan for a more inclusive, supportive future.
The following groups are invited to take part:
• Older residents (65+)
• Carers of older people
• Service providers
• First Nations community members
• Culturally and linguistically diverse community members
Each session will cover key areas recognised as essential to creating age-friendly communities:
• Outdoor spaces and buildings
• Transportation
• Housing
• Social participation
• Respect and social inclusion
• Civic participation and employment
• Communication and information
• Community support and health services
The sessions will be held in locations across the Bundaberg Region until mid-December 2025.
Focus group participants will attend a single 4-hour session, answering questions about their experiences.
Tea, coffee and morning/afternoon tea is provided.
Confirmed dates are available online with more sessions and locations to be added.
To take part or express your interest, contact the Community Development team on 1300 883 699 or email comdev@bundaberg.qld.gov.au.
