Opera Queensland is taking some of opera’s most recognisable music on the road, making a stop in Bundaberg this October with its crowd-pleasing new concert Bravo!
Created for seasoned opera lovers and first-time audiences alike, the live performance will take place at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre on Saturday 31 October, showcasing classic music from Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Bizet and more.
Warm and engaging introductions throughout the concert will reveal the stories, characters and composers behind the music, offering audiences an entertaining introduction to the extraordinary world of opera.
Bravo! stars current and former Opera Queensland Young Artists Nick Kirkup, Lachlann Lawton and Maddie Stephens, alongside Western Australian artist Chelsea Burns, accompanied by renowned pianist Beverley Kennedy.
Performers Nick and Maddie said the show promised a little something for everyone.
“[It’s for] absolutely everybody, people who are religious attenders of opera and those who may have never seen an opera before,” Maddie said.
“The music spans a complete range in opera from Baroque to 20th century.
“You’ll hear some really upbeat well-known tunes and maybe some more heartfelt and intimate melodies as well.”
“I think everyone will enjoy a bit of Bravo!” Nick said.
“There’ll be tunes you recognise and that you’ve hummed along to in movie soundtracks or ads and there’ll be stuff you’ve never heard before that hopefully leaves a part of it with you because it’s so excellent.”
The Bravo! regional tour reflects Opera Queensland’s ongoing commitment to bringing world-class music to communities throughout East, Central, North and Far North Queensland.
