Residents can help make Christmas brighter for hundreds of local families while coming together for an evening of celebration and entertainment at this year’s Taste Bundaberg Festival gala event, the Mayor’s Ball.
The festivities are in support of the annual Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, raising funds for local charities to provide food hampers, vouchers and gifts to people in the community who need help to make Christmas special.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said the event was an opportunity to give back to the community while also enjoying an evening out with friends and colleagues.
“We are very lucky to live in a region that is known for its big heart and community spirit,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“The Mayor’s Ball is Council’s major fundraiser in support of the Christmas Appeal, and it is wonderful to see so many people come together for this good cause.
“If you don’t have your ticket to the ball yet, there’s still time to get your friends together and plan a special night out.”
Mayor Blackburn said she was grateful to all the businesses that had come on board as sponsors and donors.
“Local businesses and individuals have generously donated some wonderful prizes to support the fundraising efforts through a live auction and raffle draws on the night.
“I encourage everyone who’s coming to the ball to buy a raffle ticket or bid on an auction item to help make the night a huge success for the Christmas Appeal.”
The Mayor’s Ball is on Saturday 13 September at the Bundaberg Multiplex Sport and Convention Centre.
Tickets are available on ticket search for $225 per person, which includes canapes, main course, dessert and beverage package of beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.
Set to the theme ‘black, white and lights’, attendees will enter the ball through a spectacular tunnel of lights and be entertained by the high energy sounds of The Anthems! Live Band, Abby Skye & The Batman and the soulful voice of Keely Ellen.
