Residents and visitors can pick up a tangy taste of Bundaberg this week at local producer Gooburrum Grove’s farm gate stall as part of Taste Bundaberg Festival.

We asked co-owner Rachael Coffison to share all the details.

What are you doing as part of Taste Bundaberg Festival this year?

This year Gooburrum Grove is part of the Taste Market, the Food Trail where you’ll find our farm gate stall stocked with fresh citrus, and our little farm shop will be open from 10 am to 2 pm each day.

What inspired you to get involved in Taste Bundaberg Festival?

We were inspired to get involved in the Taste Bundaberg Festival as a way to celebrate and share the incredible produce of our region.

It’s an opportunity to showcase the hard work and passion behind what we grow and make, while connecting with people who value fresh, local, and authentic food experiences.

Tell us about the produce and products on offer – what makes it special or uniquely Bundaberg?

We will have lime, honey and small batch produce on offer.  All grown and produced locally.

Our small batch products are made seasonally using only Bundaberg produce.

What’s the story behind your business, how did you get into it?

Gooburrum Grove started in 2021 when we relocated to Bundaberg.

We have over 500 Tahitian Lime trees and needed to do something with the fruit!

Dried Lime Wheels were our first product, then honey and the rest grew from there.

What do you love most about being part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival?

What I love most about being part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival is the chance to connect directly with the community and visitors, share our farm’s story, and showcase the unique flavours of our region.

It’s inspiring to see people experience and appreciate local produce, and to celebrate alongside other passionate growers and makers who make Bundaberg such a vibrant food destination.

How do you think your farm gate stall contributes to the region’s food and drink story?

Farm gate stalls connect people with the flavours of Bundaberg and highlight the skill, care, and passion that goes into producing high quality food here.

What’s one thing you hope every visitor feels or thinks when visiting your business during the festival?

I would hope that people are reminded to support local farmers and businesses by shopping local and enjoying the produce that is grown or made in their backyard.

Gooburrum Grove’s farm gate stall and farm shop can be found at 132 Booloongie Road, Gooburrum.

Open daily from 10 am to 2 pm during the Taste Bundaberg Festival, Friday 5 September to Sunday 14 September.
