Local bands will battle it out at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre for the chance to open the main stage at Lighthouse Rock.
Competing groups will hit the Moncrieff stage on Thursday 23 April at 6.15 pm with tickets now available at just $5 to be part of the audience.
Places are limited for the local competition where bands will battle it out to win the chance to play the same stage as Birds of Tokyo, Mental As Anything and headliner Jimmy Barnes at the Lighthouse Rock Festival on 23 May.
Registrations are open to all local musicians over the age of 14 with at least one original song and close on 26 March.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said it was exciting to host the live music competition at the Moncrieff.
“Battle of the Bands is a great opportunity to celebrate our local talent and showcase another aspect of our vibrant arts scene,” Cr Learmonth said.
“It’s wonderful to host such an exciting event at the Moncrieff which is the perfect stage to spotlight the region’s up and coming musicians.
“Bringing these kinds of events to the CBD is another way Council is promoting the Safe Spaces, Thriving Places initiative and with tickets at just $5 each, I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy some great local, live music.”
Battle of the Bands is brought to you by Lighthouse Rock, Bundaberg Regional Council, Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, Bout Time Music and Bundy’s 93.1 Triple M.
