
Over three action-packed days at the Bundaberg Table Tennis Association, Queensland’s best veteran athletes will compete in a state-wide event as part of preparation for the National Veterans Championships .
From 4 to 6 September competitors, officials and supporters will travel, stay and play in the region, with the championships set to deliver meaningful benefits for local accommodation providers, hospitality venues and retailers and inject new energy into the Bundaberg visitor economy.
The event is made possible through a partnership between Table Tennis Queensland, Bundaberg Regional Council and Sports Marketing Australia and is part of Council’s ongoing support for major sporting events in the region.
Table Tennis Queensland CEO Brady Walmsley said the strength of the collaboration was due to the quality of the venue and the commitment of all partners working together to deliver a seamless experience for competitors and spectators alike.
“We are delighted to bring the Queensland Open Veterans Team Championships to Bundaberg this September,” he said.
“The Bundaberg Table Tennis Association is a fantastic club and working alongside the Bundaberg Regional Council ensures we can deliver great experience for our competitors.”
Mayor Helen Blackburn said Bundaberg Regional Council was pleased to partner with Table Tennis Queensland to bring the prestigious state championship to Bundaberg.

The state event will be held over three action-packed days from 4–6 September 2026 at the Bundaberg Table Tennis Association, Kendalls Rd.
