New board members welcomed to foundation

It was a historic day as new board members for Partners in Care Together attended their first board meeting at Bundaberg Hospital.
Board members and staff at today’s Board Meeting of Partners in Care Together: Chair Trish Mears, Foundation Manager Belinda Nunn and new Board Members Kaitlyn Harnell, Fiona Macaulay, Andrew Beckenhauer and Tammy Medcalf.

Last week new board members for Partners in Care Together attended their first board meeting at Bundaberg Hospital.

The foundation supports Wide Bay Hospitals in identifying, funding and providing initiatives for patients and their families.

Tammmy Medcalf, Andrew Beckenhauer, Fiona Macaulay, Kaitlyn Harnell, Nikki Goodwin and David Facer were welcomed to the team.

They join the current Partners in Care Together board including Chair Trish Mears, Deputy Chair Melissa Guilfloyle WBHHS Chair Peta Jamieson, Chris Thiesfield and Josie Meng.

Gary Kirk tendered his resignation due to ongoing local government commitments.

New board members:

Tammy Medcalf

Tammy is an experienced business manager and company director, specialising in governance and high-level finance.

She is the Director of Collective Genius Pty Ltd, a consultancy supporting growth, compliance and operational excellence across the community and healthcare sectors, and previously served as the Contracted Business Manager at Blue Summer Properties.

Tammy recently concluded her role as CEO of Laydigo Group, where she oversaw a portfolio of medical centres and disability support services across Queensland.

With a strong track record in strategic planning, financial management, compliance, and team leadership, Tammy brings a wealth of practical experience that will benefit the Board.

Nikki Goodwin

Nikki has a thorough knowledge of legislation, being a Registered Civil Celebrant as well as JP Qualified; and having worked for the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.

Nikki commenced working for Queensland Health in 1978.

Since then, whilst she has had many clinical and education roles, she has also had senior and executive managerial positions.

She has had experience in event management and marketing related to fundraising events and is currently a volunteer facilitator of a COACH Program at her local church and community mentor for Vulnerable Families.

Nikki has recently retired and lives on the Fraser Coast which, along with her experience and enthusiasm, will be an asset for the Board.

Fiona Macaulay

Fiona is a Human Resources Manager with extensive business skills and experience in the areas of business strategy, human resources, contract management, governance, compliance, risk, marketing and communications, financial management and project management.

She is backed by academic qualifications including a Master of Business Administration, Diploma of Fundraising, Diploma of Project Management, Diploma of Human Resources Management and Certificate 4 Government Investigations.

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws with six subjects completed.

Fiona’s skills and experience make her an ideal addition to the board.

Kaitlyn Harnell

Kaitlyn has extensive experience in stakeholder management and marketing.

Building strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively communicating key messages are skills Kaitlyn has honed over many years.

Having worked in shopping centre management, she has a deep understanding of retail, which is one of the areas identified as being important for the foundation’s social enterprise operations.

Her passion to leverage this experience to help drive positive change and support for the community will make her a very effective board member.

David Facer

Dave has over a decade of experience in company directorships and significant community development experience and fundraising in the Bundaberg Region.

He has extensive experience in community development and has successfully led organisations through strategic growth, developed robust partnerships, and ensured that their goals aligned with the needs of the communities they served.

Dave is particularly drawn to the mission of Partners In Care Together to support local hospitals and improve the health and wellbeing of staff, patients and their families.

Andrew Beckenhauer

Over 12 years as Economic Development Officer at Bundaberg Regional Council, Andrew has been responsible for a diverse portfolio of initiatives that span sustainability, technology, health and wellbeing.

Andrew now works at Community Lifestyle Support, overseeing their social enterprises.

He also takes an active role in the Bundaberg community, serving as 2023 President of Forestview Community Kindergarten.

He has been a volunteer for the foundation in Bundaberg Hospital’s Emergency Department in the GEDI program and brings that personal experience and strategic direction to the board.

“We are delighted to welcome our six new board members who, along with our current hard working board members and staff, will definitely further the aims of our foundation to support patients and their families across the Wide Bay,” Trish said.
