Bundaberg Regional Council’s Waste and Recycling team is hitting the road to share practical tips and bust common myths about rubbish across the region.
During September a range of pop-up information stalls will be available at community events and locations to help residents reduce waste and recycle right.
Waste and Recycling portfolio spokesperson Cr Bartels said the initiative, part of the Let’s Get it Sorted campaign, was about making recycling easy and accessible for everyone.
“These community stalls are designed to give individuals and families the chance to ask recycling and waste questions relevant to their home and habits,” he said.
“Whether you’re unsure about soft plastics or want to know how to avoid contamination, the team are here to help you get it sorted.”
Find the Waste and Recycling team at these locations:
- Sugarland Plaza – Monday 22 September to Sunday 28 September
- Hinkler Central – Monday 29 September to Sunday 5 October
For those unable to attend in person, Council’s recycling and waste resources are available to view online.
“This includes our Handy Guide which, thanks to community feedback, has been updated to include a list from A – Z of common waste and recycling items,” Cr Bartels said.
“Each item on the list is colour coordinated and categorised to show what goes in which bin.
“The list goes beyond kerbside collection and includes suggestions for composting and items for donation to charity.”
