“This is not just a pool.
“It’s a swimming and wellbeing hub that will provide holistic experiences whether you’re returning to activity from an injury, taking your first independent paddle as a learner or training for the world stage.”
Minister for Local Government and Water Ann Leahy praised the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre as a great example of what can be achieved when state and local government work together to strengthen regional communities.
“The Queensland Crisafulli Government is proud to support the delivery of this modern and accessible facility as part of our ongoing commitment to improving essential community infrastructure,” Minister Leahy said.
“It’s an investment that will enhance liveability, support local jobs, and strengthen a healthier, more connected Bundaberg Region. Best of all – the centre is ready in time for a beautiful Queensland summer in Bundy.”
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the facility was an important investment in the community’s future.
“Investments like the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre are not just about today – they’re about preparing Queensland for the future,” he said.
“As we head towards the 2032 Olympic Games, it’s vital we deliver world-class sporting infrastructure that inspires participation, supports elite training, and strengthens our regional communities.”
