Temporary closure – Bargara Park, Birchdale Drive

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 4 MARCH: Bargara Park on Birchdale Drive is closed to public access until further notice due to the presence of sink holes.

Bundaberg Regional Council is urging the community to steer clear of the area and has erected barriers to prevent entry in the interest of safety.

This latest development has prompted Council to isolate the entire park until further investigations can be conducted.

The area will not be mown until Council receives confirmation that the park can be safely accessed.

This notice will be updated when more information is known.

EARLIER: Bargara Park on Birchdale Drive is closed to public access until further notice.

Following routine maintenance a potential safety issue was identified.

Fencing has been ordered and will be installed as soon as possible, however Council is asking the community not to enter the park area, as indicated in red on the above image.

  1. How long will it take them to fix it and what exactly is the issue and let’s have some trasparency please about the area for the residents and the wildlife ?

  2. Agreed what is going in its already lools awful thanks council how about telling the residents and we only jusyt had it mowed and the roos returned. It is our park too.

  3. That area is full of rocks which were buried from stage 3 or stage 4 of the Bargara Park development

    What is happening at the corner of Davidson Road and Atlantis Blvd, the area around the pond is also fenced off and looks awful.
    What sort of work will be completed to fix the issues? and when?
