Childers Festival marks 30 years of culture, colour and community

Childers Festival will return from 23 to 26 July 2026.

Three decades of culture, colour and community will soon come alive as the iconic Childers Festival launches its milestone 30th anniversary celebrations.

The much loved festival will return from 23 to 26 July 2026, bringing four days of entertainment, experiences and community spirit to the historic township.

Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said the 30 year milestone was a chance to celebrate the festival’s legacy while delivering an exciting program for a new generation of festivalgoers.

ā€œChilders Festival has been bringing our community together for 30 years and this year’s program is a true celebration of everything people love about this event,ā€ Mayor Blackburn said.

ā€œReaching 30 years is a significant milestone and a testament to the passion of the Childers community, local businesses and Friends of the Festival who continue to make this event so special,ā€ she said.

To celebrate the occasion, Saturday night will transform Crescent Street into a vibrant birthday street party headlined by Sneaky Sound System, alongside Raw Ordio and Hot Potato Band.

From 2 – 8 pm festivities will also feature dance workshops, games, roving performers, magic acts and interactive experiences to bring the 30th birthday theme to life.

Festival Day on Sunday 26 July will once again see the Bruce Highway close as the heart of Childers transforms into a bustling festival precinct.

More than 300 stallholders will line the streets offering local produce, handmade goods, vintage finds and street food alongside live music, performances, entertainers and carnival rides.

Headline act Rogue Traders will bring high energy entertainment to the main stage as part of a full program across multiple stages.

Festival favourites including Opera by the Lake, Sugar Mill and Cane Fire Tours and the Historic Bus Tour will also return, along with arts programming and winery dining experiences.

All ticketed events are on sale now with the full program available at childersfestival.com.au.
