Notice is given under the Planning Act 2016 that on 25 August 2026, Bundaberg Regional Council adopted an amendment to the Bundaberg Regional Council Planning Scheme, being Amendment No.18 – Zoning Amendment (Gympie Estate, Bundaberg East).
The tailored amendment will commence as Version 6.7 of the Planning Scheme on 28 August 2026.
The purpose and effect of the amendment is to change the zoning of Council owned land at Bundaberg Ring Road and Telegraph Road, Bundaberg East (known and referred to as ‘Gympie Estate’), from the Low density residential zone to the Open space zone.
The rezoning reflects the land’s environmental characteristics and its intended inclusion within the Baldwin Swamp Environmental Park.
The amendment includes changes to Schedule 2 – Mapping of the planning scheme to incorporate the zoning change.
The amended planning scheme is available for viewing and download at www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au and is available for inspection and purchase at Council’s Development counter at the Auswide Building, Level 6, 16-20 Barolin Street, Bundaberg.
