Flowers are bringing colour, greenery and life to the Bundaberg CBD, with local florist Posy Mae helping to transform The Laneway on Woongarra into a welcoming place to stop, explore and connect.
It’s one of many businesses being highlighted and celebrated as part of Bundaberg Regional Council’s Safe Spaces, Thriving Places campaign.
The campaign is shining a light on the people, businesses and community initiatives making the CBD a place where people feel safe, welcome and encouraged to spend time.
The mother and daughter duo Karina and Kristin Anderson said their studio was about more than just gorgeous floral arrangements.
“At Posy Mae, we believe beautiful spaces bring people together,” the duo said.
“Through flowers, styling and collaborations with our neighbours, we’re helping beautify and green The Laneway on Woongarra, creating an inviting area that’s welcoming for families, visitors and local businesses alike.”
The florist and gift studio has called the Bundaberg CBD home for several years and works alongside other local creatives, including The Journey Laneway, Obsidian Tattoo, Christine Ann Beauty, Liquid Gold Nails, Money and Wealth, Arch and Hair, Jane Hart Photography and Hot to Trot Pilates.
“Being located here allows us to collaborate, celebrate and support other local businesses while creating experiences that encourage people to spend time in our city,” Karina said.
“The Laneway on Woongarra is becoming a hidden gem tucked just behind Bundaberg’s main street – a vibrant little precinct where creativity, hospitality, greenery and community come together.”
With workshops, collaborations and events planned throughout the year, Posy Mae is encouraging locals and visitors to take another look at the CBD.
“Come and rediscover it,” Karina said.
“Take a stroll through The Laneway on Woongarra, enjoy a coffee, pick up some flowers and browse the boutiques, admire the public art, stop and smell the flowers and experience the warmth of our local business community.
“Bundaberg’s CBD has a welcoming destination filled with passionate local businesses, cafés, creative spaces and hidden gems waiting to be explored.”
