A splash of pink, the aroma of freshly made coffee and a welcoming atmosphere are bringing a burst of energy to the Bundaberg CBD, with Rozie Coffee Bar recently opening its doors.
The business has established a permanent home on Quay Street, complementing its existing Avoca location and mobile coffee cart, which helped build its strong community following.
Founder Daniel Martens said the move into the CBD marked the next step for the business, bringing its story to a new crowd.
“Rozie Coffee Bar is more than a coffee business – it was built around a feeling,” he said.
“Named after someone real who represents warmth, kindness and showing up when it matters, Rozie was created to bring that same feeling to others.
“From our unmistakable pink to the care that goes into every cup, we stand for connection, community, joy and genuinely good coffee.”
Daniel said the business offered premium barista-made coffee, specialty hot and iced drinks, fresh doughnuts, chunky cookies, brownies and other grab-and-go treats.
“We also operate our signature pink mobile coffee cart, bringing the full Rozie experience to community events, corporate functions, sporting events, schools and private bookings,” he said.
“Customers can also order ahead through the Rozie Coffee Bar app, making great coffee quick, convenient and consistent wherever they find us.”
The move into the city centre is helping add another reason for locals and visitors to spend time in the CBD, with Daniel excited to see Rozie contribute to the area’s evolving atmosphere.
“Quay Street gives us the opportunity to serve the people who work, shop and visit the CBD every day, while contributing something fresh and vibrant to the area,” he said.
“As a proudly local business, we’re excited to invest in the heart of Bundaberg and play a small part in bringing more people, colour and activity into the CBD.”
For Daniel, creating a positive experience extends beyond the coffee itself, with the new space designed to encourage small moments of connection throughout the day.
“Rozie brings a little colour, energy and personality to the CBD,” he said.
“We’ve created a space that feels welcoming and upbeat, where people can grab a great coffee, have a quick chat and leave with something more than what’s in their cup.
“For us, it’s about creating those small moments of connection that make the CBD feel vibrant, friendly and somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time.”
Daniel said the business also supported Bundaberg Regional Council’s Safe Spaces, Thriving Places campaign, recognising the important role local businesses played in creating a welcoming and connected CBD.
“We support the Safe Spaces, Thriving Places campaign because a strong CBD should be a place where everyone feels safe, welcome and connected,” he said.
“That aligns closely with what Rozie stands for.
“We believe local businesses have a role beyond simply opening their doors each day.
“By creating welcoming spaces, looking out for one another and working together as a community, we can help make the Bundaberg CBD a place where people genuinely want to work, visit and spend time.”
With new businesses continuing to invest in the city centre, Daniel encouraged anyone who had not visited the CBD recently to return and see what is changing.
“There’s a real opportunity to rediscover what’s right here in the heart of our city, so grab a coffee, wander around, support a few local businesses and see what’s changing,” he said.
