UPDATE: Bundaberg Waste Facility will not reopen today, Friday 28 August, while the site clean-up continues.
The Qunaba Waste Facility at 132 Potters Road, Bargara will remain open until 5 pm today to reduce the inconvenience to residents due to this unforeseen circumstance.
An update will be provided as soon as possible regarding the reopening of the University Drive Waste Facility.
EARLIER: The Bundaberg Waste Facility on University Drive is closed until further notice following a fuel leak from a customer vehicle.
The incident occurred on the weighbridge, blocking any further access to the facility.
A site clean-up is underway and no public access will be permitted to the facility until it has been deemed safe.
Residents are asked to use the Qunaba Waste Facility at 132 Potters Road, Bargara during the closure period.
An update will be provided as soon as possible regarding the reopening of the University Drive Waste Facility.
