Five popular playgrounds across the Bundaberg Region will soon benefit from upgraded softfall to provide a safer play environment.
Bundaberg Regional Council has scheduled works throughout August to remove existing sand softfall and replace it with high-quality loose softfall.
The purpose-designed material cushions falls, improving safety outcomes for children while ensuring council meets its commitment to provide Australian Standard compliant playground.
The impacted playgrounds will be closed while the replenishment works take place and include:
- Habitat Park – Closed 8 August only
- Boreham Park (sand section only) – Closed 11 August to COB 14 August
- Schuhkraft Park – Closed 18 August to COB 21 August
- Kookaburra Park – Closed 25 August to COB 26 August
- Cordalba Park – Closed 27 August to COB 28 August
Temporary fencing will be installed at sites requiring more than one day of work to ensure public safety.
