A new playground is on the way for Woodgate with exciting upgrades set to transform Banksia Park into a more inclusive and family-friendly destination.
The area is now closed off to the public while works continue with the installation of new equipment along with a barbecue area and shade sails.
Natural Resources and Environment portfolio spokesperson Cr Gary Kirk welcomed the progress and said it would deliver long-term benefits to the Woodgate community.
“The new playground has been designed by local contractor Willplay with inclusivity, safety and fun in mind and will offer something for children of all ages and abilities,” he said.
“From climbing towers and toddler swings to an all-abilities spinner, this revitalised space will become a real community hub for locals and visitors alike.”
The upgraded playground will include:
- Swings with a toddler seat
- A rocker
- An all-abilities spinner
- A climbing tower with slide
- A fort with slide
The new playground is set to open by the end of November, weather and construction timelines permitting.
Banksia Park is located along the Woodgate esplanade.
