Bundaberg’s first major new hotel in more than 20 years has reached a significant construction milestone, with the three-storey development topping out.
It marks the completion of the hotel’s main structural frame and represents an important step toward delivering the three-storey, 97 room hotel at 45 Airport Drive, Kensington.
The hotel will feature modern guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, conference facilities, a pool and gym, delivering high-quality accommodation just a stone’s throw from Bundaberg Airport.
The MVP Bundaberg Pty Ltd development has been enabled by financing that combines the complementary strengths of two MyState Group businesses: Auswide Bank’s longstanding connection to Bundaberg and the Wide Bay region and TPT Wealth’s specialist financing expertise.
TPT Wealth is providing finance for the MVP Airport Hotel development.
MyState Limited Managing Director and CEO Brett Morgan said the project aligned with the group’s focus on backing regional growth and investing in the communities where they had operations.
“Bundaberg is an important regional centre with strong tourism and business opportunities,” he said.
“Reaching the topping out stage is a significant project milestone and we’re pleased to support this development, which will provide critical accommodation infrastructure and contribute to the region’s continued economic expansion.”

Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn welcomed the topping out of the development, describing the milestone as a vote of confidence in the region.
“Reaching the topping out stage demonstrates the strong progress being made on this landmark development,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“As Bundaberg’s first major new hotel in more than two decades, the MVP Airport Hotel will expand the quality accommodation available to visitors, create local jobs and support the continued growth of our tourism, events and business economy.
“Council has been proud to support the project through our Projects of Regional Significance program because we know how important additional accommodation is to our local business and tourism economies.”
The project also received strong support from Bundaberg Tourism, with CEO Duncan Littler noting the importance of increased hotel capacity.
“This is a significant investment in Bundaberg’s visitor economy and a strong vote of confidence in the region’s continued growth,” he said.
“The MVP Airport Hotel will increase our capacity to attract overnight visitors, conferences and business travel, while creating flow-on opportunities for tourism operators and local businesses across the region.”
Located adjacent to Bundaberg Airport, the MVP Airport hotel will provide convenient accommodation for visitors arriving in the region while supporting conferences, events and corporate travel.
With the structure now topped out, the project will move into its next stages, including external works, services installation and internal fit-out, with completion expected in 2027.
