Bundaberg locals will have the chance to experience a touch of Disney magic tomorrow when a giant inflatable Mickey Mouse makes a special stop in the CBD.
The six-metre-tall installation will be on display at the CBD Pavilion from 12 – 6 pm on Tuesday 27 October.
The Bundaberg stop is part of a Queensland road trip celebrating the upcoming opening of Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic in Mackay.
Locals are invited to stop by and snap a photo with the iconic inflatable for the chance to win a trip to Mackay and exhibition passes.
EXCLUSIVE MICKEY MOUSE INFLATABLE TO TOUR QUEENSLAND AHEAD OF AUSSIE-FIRST EXHIBITION
Nine Queensland destinations will receive a magical visit this October and November, as a six-metre-tall inflatable Mickey Mouse takes a Queensland road trip.
The larger-than-life inflatable Mickey Mouse will travel from Brisbane to Mackay in anticipation for Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic opening on 4 December 2026.
The Mickey Mouse inflatable will be a limited-time attraction – with only one day in most locations, locals are invited to visit the pop up in their city, with opportunities to win exhibition passes and a trip to Mackay, snap a photo with the beloved Mickey Mouse inflatable and join the countdown to the exhibition’s opening at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre.
Mackay Regional Council Mayor Greg Williamson said the tour was about much more than promoting an exhibition, it highlighted Queensland’s regional destinations and shone a spotlight on Mackay’s role as host in bringing the global phenomenon to Australian shores.
“Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic presents a tremendous opportunity to showcase not only Mackay, but Queensland’s regional destinations to visitors from across Australia,” Mayor Williamson said.
“The exhibition is expected to attract visitors from near and far, generating valuable economic benefits for local businesses and reinforcing Mackay’s growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting major cultural events.
“This tour brings a touch of Disney magic to communities along the way while highlighting the important role regional Queensland plays in delivering world-class experiences. We’re excited to give Queenslanders a taste of what’s to come and invite them to experience this extraordinary exhibition when it opens later this year.”
The travelling Mickey Mouse inflatable will visit Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Whitsundays, Moranbah, Clermont and Nebo before arriving in Mackay’s Caneland Central, to rally local excitement in the weeks leading up to the exhibition opening.
Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic was created by the Walt Disney Archives, in collaboration with Semmel Exhibitions, and is an immersive experience celebrating over 100 years of Disney storytelling, innovation and magic. The world-class experience features expansive gallery builds and large-scale displays of more than 120 treasured objects brought together to tell over a century of Disney history.
Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic will take place at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) from 4 December 2026 to 4 May 2027.
Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
