Tour and tea brings seniors together for conversation and connection

Bundaberg's senior community is invited to celebrate with a morning of exploration and connection at the Hinkler Hall of Aviation.
The event will be held on Thursday 9 October and again on Thursday 16 October at the Hinkler Hall of Aviation (HHA).

October is Seniors Month and Bundaberg’s senior community is invited to celebrate with a morning of exploration and connection at the Hinkler Hall of Aviation.

Hosted by Bundaberg Regional Council, the event offers older residents a chance to explore the life and legacy of aviation pioneer Bert Hinkler through interactive exhibits and vintage aircraft.

Following the tour, guests will enjoy morning tea in the tranquil surrounds of the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.

Councillor Steve Cooper, spokesperson for Tourism, Airport, and Information Technology Services said the event is a meaningful way to honour the contributions of older Australians.

“The Hinkler Hall of Aviation offers a unique glimpse into Bundaberg’s proud history and sharing that with our senior community is something truly special,” Cr Cooper said.

“We want seniors to feel celebrated, appreciated and inspired and the Botanic Gardens provide the perfect setting to create new memories and bring people together.”

Tickets can be purchased here.

As a Seniors Month event, the ticket price has been set at $16 for Seniors Card holders but those accompanying Seniors Card holders can book tickets for the same price.
