A section of Que Hee Street has been closed after the culvert and road surface was damaged during the recent flood event.
The section of road is a popular route for pedestrians to access the Baldwin Swamp Environmental Park and East State School.
The area was inundated by water and a post-flood damage assessment confirmed the need for the road to remain closed to motorists and pedestrians in the interests of public safety.
The area remains fenced off and residents are asked to avoid the area.
Council crews are currently working on temporary repairs to the road surface and assessing the stability of the culverts.
The engineering assessment will include consideration of reopening the road under restricted traffic conditions, if safe to do so.
Council will keep the community informed as soon as more information is available.
Council apologises for the inconvenience of this unforeseen road closure and thanks the community in advance for its patience and understanding.

Why don’t they bridge it, this happens nearly every flooding.
