More than 200 young people from across the Bundaberg Region have contributed to a youth-designed festival for under-25s to connect and have fun.
Proudly delivered by Bundaberg Regional Council through support from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal, the Bundy Youth Festival will take place at Riverfeast on Saturday 18 April from 4 to 8 pm.
The free event will feature live music, DJs, food trucks, yard games and a chill out space.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the overarching purpose of the event was to address social isolation and mental health for young people.
“Bundy Youth Festival is a great way to gather our young people together and create a sense of belonging by giving them a safe space to hang out and enjoy themselves,” Cr McPhee said.
“The festival will also support youth mental health with local young speakers sharing their journey as well as support organisations on hand including Headpace and Lighthouse WBH Mental Health Unit.
“While the event is aimed at 12 to 25 year olds, we also encourage families to come along and join us to create a positive community connection together.”
