ANZAC Day services will be held across the Bundaberg Region on Saturday 25 April, with all details now available in Bundaberg Regional Council’s 2026 ANZAC Day booklet.
RSL sub-branches and community groups will host dawn and civic services in towns and communities across the region and Council will again host a Civic Service with support from the Bundaberg RSL Sub Branch.
This year marks a significant moment for the community with the Bundaberg Civic Service returning to the newly redeveloped ANZAC Park.
The 2026 commemorations also recognise an important national milestone – 105 years of the Royal Australian Air Force.
Following local tradition, the Bundaberg Civic Service Guests of Honour, representing all serving and ex‑service members, are invited to take the salute alongside the Mayor at the official dais.
Mayor Helen Blackburn said the parade would march along Bourbong Street, past the Cenotaph and into ANZAC Park, where this year’s Guests of Honour, John Wilson OAM and Leone Wilson OAM, will take the salute.
“Marking 105 years of the Royal Australian Air Force gives us a moment to honour generations of airmen and airwomen whose service has protected our nation,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“Their dedication, courage and professionalism continue to inspire Australians of all ages.”
Mayor Blackburn said the revitalised ANZAC Park offered a fitting backdrop for one of the region’s most significant commemorations.
“ANZAC Park has long been a place where our community comes together to honour those who served,” she said.
“With its new memorial features and contemplative design, it provides a meaningful place for reflection and remembrance for generations to come.”
Each year, Council creates a free digital and print booklet to help the community find a local service to commemorate the day.
The booklet provides information on each service being held, the order of proceedings, associated events, hymns and anthems.
The 2026 booklet is available on Council’s website with printed copies available from Council administration centres and local services.

Is there going to be a viewing of the movie ‘Under Bamboo Skies’ in Bundaberg as part of ANZAC Day celebrations?
If this is scheduled could you advise date, time and venue.
Thanking you.
Hi Gloria,
This is not part of Council’s planned activities but reach out to your local RSL as they may be running viewings at their facilities as part of ANZAC Day celebrations.
