Bundaberg locals will be able to explore dozens of ways to get involved in the community at this year’s Volunteering Showcase.
The free event brings together a wide mix of community groups, charities, clubs and service organisations from across the region.
Residents will be able to meet local organisations, learn about the work they do and discover volunteering roles to suit their interests, skills and lifestyle.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the showcase was designed to help people find opportunities they may not have realised existed.
“Volunteering looks different for everyone and this event is a great way to explore what’s possible,” Cr McPhee said.
“Some people want something hands‑on, others want something they can do from home and some are looking for short‑term or skill‑based roles.
“The showcase brings all of those options together so residents can have real conversations and find a role that fits,” she said.
Cr McPhee said the event also highlighted the important role volunteers played across the region.
“Every organisation represented at the showcase contributes something valuable to our community,” she said.
“Residents can learn about the work these groups do and see how even a small amount of time or skill can make a big difference.”
