Fee waiver helps keep Bundaberg Show going

A fee waiver for the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct is playing a key role in bringing the 2026 Hitz 93.9 Bundaberg Show to life,  supporting organisers to deliver three fun-filled days for the whole community.

The sights, sounds and excitement of the Bundaberg Show will return in full force this May, with Bundaberg Regional Council’s support helping ensure the annual event continues and is packed with entertainment.

A fee waiver for the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct is playing a key role in bringing the 2026 Hitz 93.9 Bundaberg Show to life,  supporting organisers to deliver three fun-filled days for the whole community.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said council was pleased to support such a well-loved event.

“The Bundaberg Show is a much-loved tradition and council recognises the importance of keeping events like this accessible for residents,” she said.

“This fee waiver of $12,947.82 is one way we can help ensure the show continues to thrive.”

Bundaberg Show Society President Maree See said the waiver made a real difference behind the scenes.

“The waiver of our rental fee helps us to put on free entertainment features for the public,” she said.

“It is the difference between being in the black or the red.”

From Wednesday 27 May to Friday 29 May the grounds will come alive with everything from classic agricultural competitions to crowd-favourite entertainment, fireworks and family attractions.

“Everyone loves coming to the show to relax, see new exhibits, ring events, show jumping/horse/cattle events and more,” Maree said.

“For those looking for a cheaper alternative, we always encourage families to buy an entry ticket and simply bring along their own food and drinks and just look around and have fun.

“There is plenty to see- they do not have to spend any more money if they do not wish to.”
