Contemporary artists with a link to the Bundaberg Region are sought for a showcase of the region’s best in visual arts.
Expressions of interest are now open for Bundaberg Regional Galleries’ annual regional survey exhibition, ‘HERE + NOW’.
The exhibition will feature a curated selection of artworks by artists who live and work in the region currently, as well as those with enduring connections to the area.
Applications are open to emerging, mid-career and established artists.
Launched in 2019, ‘HERE + NOW’ has engaged hundreds of artists and welcomed thousands of visitors over the past eight years.
HERE + NOW 2025 exhibiting artist Nicole Jakins said she valued the opportunity to show her work in last year’s exhibition:
“Regional galleries play an important role in supporting local artists and creating space for conversations that are deeply connected to the histories, environments and communities of a particular place,” she said.
“I would encourage any artist to apply for professional exhibiting opportunities such as HERE + NOW.”
Curating the exhibition this year is guest curator Demi Conrad, Gallery Manager at Onespace, a Brisbane-based private art gallery representing some of the country’s most exciting contemporary artists.
