The Moncrieff Entertainment Centre will host a free community screening of the transformative parenting documentary SEEN as part of Queensland Child Protection Week.
Showing on Tuesday 9 September, the film explores the emotional journey of parenthood, uncovering the often-hidden struggles parents face as they reflect on their own childhood experiences and healing processes.
Bundaberg Regional Council partnered with not-for-profit organisation BUSHkids and the Bundaberg Ministers Association to bring this screening to the region.
Council’s Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the initiative reflected Council’s commitment to fostering safe and connected communities.
“This initiative is about empowering families with the knowledge and tools to overcome challenges and build resilience,” Cr McPhee said.
“By creating space for reflection and connection, we’re helping parents feel seen, supported and understood which benefits the whole community.”
Cr McPhee said the film opened the door to important conversations.
“The Q&A session after the screening will give audience members the chance to reflect, ask questions and connect with others who may share similar experiences.”
Admission is free and open to all community members.
