
Before you make your way into Bundaberg’s CBD for the Pageant of Lights on Thursday 4 December, here’s everything you need to know to enjoy the festivities.
Is this a ticketed event?
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Pageant of Lights event is a free event and you do not require a ticket to attend.
What time are the festivities?
The event begins at 5.30 pm with roaming and live entertainment across two stages, festive food and market stalls.
From 5.30 – 9 pm visitors can browse locally made treasures at the Twilight Artisan Market at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery and Gallery Park.
At 7 pm, Bundaberg’s spectacular Christmas lights will be switched on.
The parade of Christmas floats will then commence down Bourbong Street.
The event finishes at 9 pm.

When will you announce the parade winners?
The winners of each float class will be announced at Buss Park immediately after the parade concludes.
Three float divisions will be recognised with each winner receiving a festive Christmas hamper as their prize.
Road closures
To ensure the safety of all attendees, the following roads will be closed from 3 – 10.30 pm on Thursday 4 December:
- Bourbong Street from Maryborough Street to Toonburra Street
- Barolin Street from Quay Street to Woongarra Street
- Tantitha Street from Choice Liquor to Woongarra Street
Parking
There is no allocated parking for this event. Parking is available throughout the CBD outside of the road closure areas.
Toilets
There will be toilets available at Buss Park, Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, the marshalling area for floats and the main pavilion.
Disabled toilets will be located at Buss Park.
Pets
We discourage pets attending the celebrations due to the large crowds and noise.
Is alcohol allowed?
This is an alcohol-free event.
