A celebration of community was held at the Bundaberg Multiplex last week as locals from across the region gathered for a special Our People Our Stories event.

Over the past 12 months the Bundaberg community has played a part in the donation of more than $4000 to help The Fred Hollows Foundation continue its sight-restoring work in some of the world’s poorest communities.

In a bid to reduce the hundreds of lost or stray animals arriving at the local shelter each year, Bundaberg RSPCA is offering pet owners a discount on microchipping this Saturday.

While the Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Carols by Candlelight was recently cancelled due to the threat of wet weather, Ainsley Driver and the Carols Big Band team are bringing a scaled-back version of the event to the region tomorrow night.

The IMPACT Community Services’ Community Visitors Scheme recently held its annual celebration where dozens of volunteers were recognised for their ongoing support and friendship to those in aged care facilities.
