The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a major flood warning for the Burnett River, with flood levels similar to the December 2010 event (7.92 m) possible from Tuesday evening. More ⬇️

🚧 Many local roads impacted by flash flooding – please drive with extreme caution 🌧️ Bundaberg Regional Council is urging motorists to take extra care as widespread flash flooding is affecting numerous local roads. Not all road closures can be signposted, and access to some coastal communities is currently cut off.

The Bundaberg State Emergency Service (SES) is making sandbags available for residents to help protect their homes and properties during the current weather situation.

The Bundaberg Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has moved to Stand Up following a Bureau of Meteorology briefing and forecast minor to moderate flooding for local waterways.

A major safety boost is on the way for motorists and pedestrians in Bundaberg West with a busy local intersection set to be transformed through the construction of a new roundabout, raised pedestrian crossings and upgraded street lighting.
