Community or sport clubs are a great way to foster connections within the community.
Here are six simple steps the Bundaberg Regional Council recommends for establishing a community or sport club in the area:
- Call and plan a meeting with potential members
- Create a constitution
- Call the first Annual General Meeting
- Register the club
- Create a bank account (in line with OFT regulation)
- Submit the application for incorporation with OFT
Other important details to consider when starting a new club include, acquiring Public Liability Insurance and adopting policies such as risk management, social media, diversity and inclusion.
