Community or sport clubs are a great way to foster connections within the community.

Here are six simple steps the Bundaberg Regional Council recommends for establishing a community or sport club in the area:

  1. Call and plan a meeting with potential members
  2. Create a constitution
  3. Call the first Annual General Meeting
  4. Register the club
  5. Create a bank account (in line with OFT regulation)
  6. Submit the application for incorporation with OFT

Other important details to consider when starting a new club include, acquiring Public Liability Insurance and adopting policies such as risk management, social media, diversity and inclusion.
