Bundaberg Regional Galleries have put out the call for artists across the country to submit expressions of interest to exhibit at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery and Childers Arts Space in 2026.
Exhibition applications are now open for established, mid-career and emerging artists looking to present their work in a professional gallery environment.
Bundaberg Regional Galleries has five exhibition spaces to suit a variety of exhibiting artists and exhibition types.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said the galleries championed arts for the Bundaberg Region community.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to work with the professional team at Bundaberg Regional Galleries to bring engaging, contemporary art to our local audiences,” Cr Learmonth said.
“Applications will be selected based on a range of criteria including artistic excellence, capacity to enrich and engage the audience, and relevance to a regional narrative.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what exciting new exhibitions we can bring to the region in the coming years.”
How to apply
Exhibition applications are accepted once a year, closing 30 June, for the following calendar year.
Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the galleries website and review the required information before beginning their application.
Applicants can apply for a solo exhibition or as a group, and need not live or work in the Bundaberg Region to be eligible to apply.
Proposals must include:
- A clear curatorial concept, theme, or approach
- A clear description of what the exhibition might look like
- A professional artist biography and curriculum vitae
- Up to 10 images that represent the artworks to be included in the proposed exhibition
Artwork details must accompany each image, and moving image and other digital work artists are required to provide a link to the work.
