Get ready to spread out, relax and connect – Bundaberg’s Biggest Picnic is rolling into town this September as a vibrant new feature event of the Taste Bundaberg Festival!
In a first for the region, a giant custom-made picnic blanket will be the centrepiece of this relaxed community celebration, inviting people of all ages to come together in one shared space for an unforgettable afternoon of food, music and connection.
Happening Saturday 6 and 13 September 2025 from 3 pm to 7 pm, Bundaberg’s Biggest Picnic is not your average afternoon in the park.
Attendees can book their spot on the enormous picnic blanket for just $10 and choose to bring their own picnic or pre-order a delicious $30 picnic hamper packed with locally-sourced treats.
The event will feature live acoustic music, lawn games and a warm, welcoming vibe that encourages conversation and community bonding.
Conversation prompts will be scattered around the blanket to spark storytelling and connection between new faces and familiar friends alike.
“Bundaberg’s Biggest Picnic is about more than food, it’s about people,” the organisers from Wide Bay Kids said.

As part of the official Taste Bundaberg Festival program, this new event adds a unique social experience that combines local flavours with laid-back charm.
