Locals are being invited to take a sneak peek at the new Bundaberg Aquatic Centre with free guided tours set to make a splash this month ahead of the facility’s grand opening.
While the official opening date is still under wraps, the 30-minute tours will give residents a chance to explore the highly anticipated venue and see firsthand how it will transform swimming, training and recreation in the region.
The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre features a world-class Olympic-sized pool, a dedicated indoor program pool, an indoor lap pool, modern change rooms, shaded spectator areas and state-of-the-art facilities designed for accessibility and comfort.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Blackburn said the tours were a great way to build community excitement as the finishing touches were put in place.
“This project has been years in the making and Council and the Councillors are incredibly proud to be opening the doors for our community to see what’s been achieved,” she said.
“The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre will be a game-changer not just for our swimmers and athletes, but for families, schools and clubs right across the region.
“These tours are a fantastic opportunity to see the facilities up close before the official opening.
“I encourage everyone to come along and share in the excitement.”
For those unable to attend in person, Bundaberg Regional Council will release a video online, giving the entire community the chance to share in the anticipation and explore the new facility from wherever they are.
