Bundaberg’s beloved Mumma’s Nest Christmas Markets have once again put their support behind the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, helping raise funds for local families doing it tough this festive season.
The popular community event will donate proceeds from gold coin entry and raffles to the appeal, with Christmas baubles also available for purchase to boost fundraising efforts.
“This year we’ll have 70 stalls with everything from gifts for the person who has it all, treats for your furry family members, Christmas baking and decorations, boutique handmade soaps, clothing, bags, gifts and even some plants,” Hannah said.
“There will be activities for the kids plus coffee and a chill out zone for dad too.”
Hannah encouraged the community to come along to enjoy the festive atmosphere while supporting local businesses and the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.
“We have so many beautiful stallholders and new micro businesses and these markets give them a place to showcase their unique products,” she said.
“The raffles and the feeling of giving back to the appeal really build the Christmas spirit of giving.
“Plus you can get all your Christmas and birthday shopping done in one place while supporting real local mum-and-dad businesses.”
Mayor Helen Blackburn said Council was proud to have the continued support of Mumma’s Nest Markets.
“It’s wonderful to see this much-loved local event backing the appeal again this year,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“The generosity of the organisers and stallholders helps us reach more families and spread the spirit of giving across our region.
“All funds raised will go directly to local charities so they can provide hampers, gifts or vouchers to brighten Christmas for those who need it most.”
Mayor’s Christmas Appeal sponsorship packages are available at bronze, silver and gold levels.
Community members and businesses can also donate at the Family level, a contribution of $100 that assists one family in the region.
Donations of any amount are welcome.
