A popular local venue is adding another 76 spaces to its car park to cater to increasing community demand.
The car parking area will include 8 spaces for persons with a disability.
The Waves lodged the request with Bundaberg Regional Council which approved the development application at an Ordinary Meeting on 25 November.
The sports club is located on Miller Street in Norville, across from the Martens Oval sporting fields.
The additional car parking areas would be covered by shade structures to match the existing parking areas on site.
To facilitate the car park upgrade the club would expand the parking area over 9, 10 and 12 Nelson Street and vacant portions of 1 Miller Street.
Due to the removal of some existing buildings to accommodate the works an additional storage shed will also be constructed.
Traffic management improvements have been incorporated into the development approval, including a new pedestrian entrance on Nelson Street and a left in and left out arrangement off Maynard Street, with some alterations to the existing traffic islands.
Vehicle access onto Nelson Street would only occur to access the newly approved shed.
