Bundaberg Regional Council has resolved not to request any changes to the current polling methods for Council elections.
A report recommending Council ask the Minister for Local Government, through the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) to consider converting the Council election process in the Bundaberg Region to full postal was put to the Council meeting.
The change would have meant no physical polling booths would be manned in the region and each eligible voter within the electorate would have received their ballot papers in the mail
However an alternate motion to retain the current polling method was moved and endorsed.
As a result, Council will not be requesting the Minister consider changing the polling method in the Bundaberg Region ahead of the next election.
