Temporary closure of foreshore amenities block

Buxton Foreshore Park, Wharf Street, Buxton

Bundaberg Regional Council is advising Buxton residents and visitors that the toilet block at Foreshore Park will be temporarily closed.

Following an inspection, Council has identified a failure in the existing septic system which will require rectification.

While a permanent solution is being considered, the toilet block will be closed and other facilities including portaloo units will be provided in the interim.

Natural Resources and Environment portfolio spokesperson Cr Gary Kirk said Council appreciated the community’s patience while the issue was being addressed.

“We understand the importance of Buxton Foreshore Park to our community and we are committed to ensuring that the necessary repairs are made as swiftly as possible,” he said.

“This area is highly valued by both residents and visitors and we are prioritising a solution that will maintain the park’s accessibility and functionality for all.”

The temporary facilities will include two unisex cubicles and one accessible toilet unit.

The toilet block will be closed for several weeks.
