A new development that will deliver 409 new homes as part of a lifestyle resort has been given the green light by Bundaberg Regional Council.

Submitted by Stockwell Development Group Pty Ltd, the Material Change of Use for a relocatable home park at 551 Windermere Road, Bargara was approved in this week’s Ordinary Meeting.

Stockwell Development Group has been active in the Bundaberg Region for approximately 25 years.

Its newest project will not only feature hundreds of new homes, but also a range of shared facilities centred around a ‘Livewell Centre’.

The centre will house a hall, lounge and games area, craft room, library, media room, gym, bar and café, kitchen, indoor pool, amenities and outdoor dining spaces.

Additional outdoor facilities will include a pool, tennis court, bowling green, community garden and landscaped communal areas.

On-site parking will be provided for both residents and visitors and each home will include at least one covered parking space with a mix of single and double garages, including some larger garages designed to accommodate recreational vehicles.

A total of 117 visitor parking spaces will be distributed throughout the site.

The development will also include a dedicated storage area in the south-western corner for recreational vehicles and buggies, comprising 56 RV spaces, four buggy spaces, a washdown bay and a workshop area.

Vehicle access to the site will be provided via three entry points, including a primary access from Hughes Road and two access points from Windermere Road.

The development is planned to be delivered in six stages.

The applicant advises that while the development would cater for over 50s, they do not intend to place an age restriction on residents.
