Celebrate Queensland Youth Week with a range of events across the Bundaberg Region.

From printmaking and pickleball to fabric workshops and festivals, there is something for everyone to enjoy as the Bundaberg Region celebrates Youth Week.

Taking place from 11 to 19 April, Queensland Youth Week recognises the talents, achievements and contributions of young people in our communities.

A highlight of this year’s celebrations will be the Bundy Youth Festival taking place at Riverfeast on Saturday 18 April with live music, food trucks and creative spaces for ages 12 to 25.

Paper in Motion with Penny Bennet

Inspired by the oozing life forms from Penny Bennett’s exhibition Biomorphism, participants will learn to create a kinetic sculpture using paper and the process of Automata.

Automata is a playful and inventive way to create cams, cranks, levers, gears and linkages that turn movement into actions.

When: Saturday 11 Aprill, 10.30 am

Where: Bundaberg School of Arts

Childers Youth Week Celebration

Get moving at this jam-packed Youth Week celebration with box fit, bowling, pickleball and more.

This free event has something for everyone with activities for little ones, games, prizes and morning tea.

When: Monday 13 April, 9.30 am

Where: Isis Club Childers

Cost: Free, no bookings required

DIY and Defiant with Ana Daniels

Join Bundaberg‑born artist Ana Daniels for a hands‑on workshop that dives into creativity, identity, and self‑expression through textiles.

Using upcycled fabrics and everyday materials, participants will experiment with sculptural and construction techniques to create their own bold, tactile artworks.

When: Friday 17 April, 10.30 am

Where: Bundaberg School of Arts

Ages 12 – 18

Printmaking with Karen Stanton

Don’t miss this hands-on exploration of printmaking and storytelling through art with artist Kaz Stanton.
Participants will experiment with drypoint etching using upcycled everyday materials, learning how to scratch, ink and print their own layered artwork.

When: Saturday 18 April, 10.30 am

Youth Festival

With live music, food trucks, creative spaces and yard games, don’t miss the Bundy Youth Festival at Riverfeast on 18 April.

Delivered through the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR) ABC Heywire Youth Grant, this youth-designed festival will provide a safe and inclusive space for ages 12 – 25.  

When: Saturday 18 April, 4 – 8 pm

Where: Riverfeast
