It’s time to polish up the resume and brush up on interview skills, Bundaberg Careers Expo is just around the corner.
The free annual event connects jobseekers, career-changers and students with prospective employers, career advisors and training organisations.
Bundaberg Careers Expo has grown significantly over the years and is expected to attract around 3,000 attendees and more than 95 exhibitors when it takes over the Bundaberg Multiplex Sport and Convention Centre on Wednesday 13 May.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said the expo was a must for all jobseekers, along with students looking to enter the workforce or higher education.
“The Careers Expo provides valuable connections and resources for community members looking for career opportunities,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“The stallholders represent a broad range of industries and organisations from small business to large, trade skills, higher education, government departments and more.
“As our region grows, so do the opportunities for a rewarding career and high-quality education close to home.”
Mayor Blackburn said the expo is a great place to get one-on-one advice about career pathways.
“All the stalls will have exhibitors on hand to answer questions and give practical advice about jobs in their industry,” she said.
“I encourage anyone looking to take the first steps towards a new career to come along to Bundaberg Careers Expo.”
Bundaberg Careers Expo is a joint initiative of Bundaberg Regional Council, Link and Launch, Workforce Australia and Jobs Bundaberg, supported by sponsors Central Queensland University (CQU) and YourTown.
