A key section of The Hummock is undergoing important safety improvements, with temporary traffic changes required to allow works to take place.
Bundaberg Regional Council is upgrading the pedestrian safety barrier along Rehbein Avenue this month, replacing the ageing copper log fence located at the top of the retaining wall.
The project will deliver a safer, more durable traffic and pedestrian barrier designed to better protect both residents and the many visitors who enjoy the area.
The new barrier will be installed on a purpose-built concrete median, improving stability and long-term performance.
Traffic control measures and detours will be in place throughout construction.
Motorists should expect temporary closures affecting access to some properties during the works.
Those driving through the area should expect delays.
The project will be completed by late June, pending weather.
Bundaberg Regional Council appreciates the community’s patience as the important safety improvements are carried out.
