Enjoy the stories of the man behind the hits that were the soundtrack to a generation as Normie Rowe takes to the stage at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre on Friday 12 June.
Normie was the first King of Pop and Australia’s most successful pop idol during the explosion of pop music and fashion in the mid-60s.
He released a string of hits including Que Sera Sera, Shakin’ All Over, It Ain’t Necessarily So, It’s Not Easy and Ooh La La followed by a constant media frenzy which produced fan hysteria unseen before or since for an Australian artist.Â
At the peak of his popularity, Normie was called up for Army service and served in Vietnam.
On his return, he had to start again in the tough but educational Sydney Leagues club circuit working with big bands.Â
At the same time, Normie was studying acting and honing his vocal skills which led to a long running part in the TV series Sons & Daughters and a critically acclaimed role ad Jean Valjean in Les Miserables.
Normie Rowe AO is a consummate entertainer and The Story So Far… will provide a soundtrack and insights into an ever-cheerful life filled with exhilarating highs and shattering lows.
