NAIDOC Week events across the region

Bundaberg Regional Council will host a NAIDOC Flag Raising Gathering in Buss Park in partnership with the local NAIDOC Committee on Monday 6 July.

Bundaberg Regional Council will mark NAIDOC Week with a range of community events taking place from 5 to 11 July.

Delivered in partnership with the local NAIDOC Committee, the community is invited to join the NAIDOC Flag Raising Gathering in Buss Park on Monday 6 July from 8.30 to 10 am followed by a morning tea.

This extended event will showcase both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and connection to Country.

The Moncrieff Entertainment Centre will host a free NAIDOC screening of Kangaroo, the heart-warming family comedy inspired by the life of Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, on Tuesday 7 July at 6.30 pm.

Childers Neighbourhood Centre, Isis Child and Family and National Australia Bank will host a morning of learning with the Butchulla Land and Sea Rangers in Millennium Park on Wednesday 8 July while in Gin Gin children can enjoy a themed craft morning at the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre.

Another highlight will be the 2026 Bundaberg Multicultural World Cup, a free family-friendly event designed to bring the region together in a celebration of community and connection.

Delivered as part of the Strengthening Multicultural Queensland funded project by the Queensland Government and coordinated by Bundaberg Regional Council , the event will showcase a full day of friendly competition and cultural experiences.

There is also a range of First Nations fiction on offer at Bundaberg Regional Libraries with staff available for assistance.
