Community favourite Agrotrend Bundaberg will once again join the Taste Bundaberg Festival program, offering something for farmers and families alike.
Taking place at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct from 11 to 12 September, this year’s event will also include fresh new farmers markets where visitors can enjoy seasonal fruit and vegetables, farmgate products, preserves, flowers and baked treats.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said Bundaberg Regional Council was proud to partner with the region’s premier agricultural and lifestyle field day.
“Both the Taste Festival and Agrotrend are iconic local events, so it is wonderful to be able come together and showcase all our region has to offer,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“Since its inception in 1978, Agrotrend has championed the vital role agriculture plays in our community and so the farmers markets are the perfect addition to the program.
“Working together, we hope these events will continue to promote the fabulous produce from our region as well as our homegrown food heroes.”
Bundaberg Agrotrend Event Manager Ainsley Gatley said Agrotrend and Taste Festival were a natural partnership.
“Together, these events showcase the importance of supporting local agriculture, educating the community and celebrating the people and produce that make our region unique,” Ainsley said.
“The farmers markets are an exciting inclusion to Agrotrend, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to supporting local farmers and producers.
“We believe Agrotrend provides the perfect platform to showcase the incredible variety of fresh produce and value-added products grown in our region.”
With everything from machinery displays and industry workshops to stunts, comedy and live music, the 2026 Agrotrend program is packed with plenty to explore.
“With something for every age, Agrotrend showcases local pride, strengthens community connections and highlights the vital role agriculture plays in our region’s future,” Ainsley said.
“Agrotrend is run by the community for the community and all proceeds raised go back into our region.”
Agrotrend funding support
Bundaberg Regional Council has continued its support for the long-running agricultural showcase, providing $10,000 in financial assistance to support Agrotrend 2026 and Agrotrend 2027.
Ainsley said Council’s support of local events like Agrotrend was vital to ensure they continued for future generations.
“Council’s two-year funding commitment provides Agrotrend with the stability and confidence to plan for the future, attract exhibitors and sponsors and continue investing in new experiences for visitors,” she said.
“It demonstrates recognition of the event’s value to the region and its role in supporting agriculture, local businesses, tourism and community connection.
“We can’t thank Council enough for its support.”
