How to: search for impounded animals

lost pet lost and found pound
If you have a lost pet, Bundaberg Regional Council’s impounded animals list is a great place to start your search.

Animals are impounded at Council’s Animal Management Facility when staff are unable to identify the pet.

An animal may not be identified due to any of the following situations:

  1. The animal is not wearing a Council registration tag
  2. The animal is not microchipped
  3. The animal’s microchip details are not current

If your pet has gone missing, you can check to see if it has been processed at the Animal Management Facility here.

Please note that processing times may vary, so check the list regularly.

You can contact Council on 1300 883 699 or visit a Council service centre to arrange the release of your pet if they appear on the impounded list.

Only the legal owner of the animal can release them from the Animal Management Facility.
