Community feedback is sought to help shape the next five years of arts and culture in the Bundaberg Region.
Bundaberg Regional Council is drafting a new Arts and Culture Strategy and has invited the public to share ideas through a community consultation survey.
The strategy aims to cover events, libraries, theatre, visual arts, heritage and festivals across the region.
Council’s Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said the community’s feedback would provide important guidance on the development of the strategy.
“Arts, culture, events and heritage are vital to ensuring our community remains vibrant, liveable and connected,” Cr Learmonth said.
“We want to hear what matters most to the community because it’s critical the strategy reflects community priorities.
“The survey responses will help to identify future needs and opportunities for improvement.
“I encourage everyone to complete the survey and share your ambitions for arts and culture in our region.”
Cr Learmonth said implementing the strategy was a high priority for Council as part of its Safe Spaces, Thriving Places policy.
“Arts, events and heritage can play an important part in revitalising the Bundaberg CBD through pop-up activations, public art installations and increased visitation,” he said.
“The new strategy will help steer Council support and investment in arts and culture in ways that will celebrate and strengthen our unique regional identity.”
