From electric music performances to high energy entertainment, Crescent Street will transform into the ultimate street party to celebrate 30 years of the Childers Festival.
This free community celebration will take place on Saturday 25 July from 2 to 8 pm and like all the best birthday parties, will include amazing entertainment, delicious food and great music.
Australian dance music legends Sneaky Sound System will take to the stage alongside the electric energy of Raw Ordio and crowd-favourites Hot Potato Band.
The party fun will continue with dance workshops, birthday games, roaming performers, magic acts, bubble artists and glitter stations.
Sneaky Sound System gave us a taste of what to expect from their headline performance:
What can the audience expect from your performance at Childers Festival?
A proper party!
We’ve always approached shows as something you feel as much as you hear, so expect all the big songs, a lot of energy and a crowd that ends up becoming part of the show.
We tend to lean into that shared moment where everyone just lets go a bit, that’s when it really clicks for us.
Good music is obviously non-negotiable… but beyond that it’s really about people feeling free to have a good time.
A mix of generations, a bit of chaos, people dancing who maybe didn’t plan on dancing – that’s usually a good sign.
And ideally a moment where no one wants it to end.

What do you enjoy most about performing at well-loved community events like the Childers Festival?
There’s something really genuine about them.
You get a mix of people who’ve followed you for years and others who might be seeing you for the first time and everyone meets in the same place.
There’s no pretence, it’s just about connection and enjoying the moment which is what dance music is meant to do.
What are you looking forward to about visiting the Bundaberg Region?
We’ve heard great things — it feels like one of those places where people really show up and get behind events like this, which always makes a difference.
And honestly, getting out of the city for a minute, seeing a different part of the country and playing to a new crowd is always refreshing for us.
